Back to Blogging

It has been nearly a year since my last blog post and I’m at a place in my life where I am ready to open the laptop back up and update you on what’s been happening.
As you know I am a student and have been in my third year training as a beauty therapist. I knew this final year of studies would be difficult and I wanted to focus all of my down time on revision instead of blogging, which is exactly what I have been doing. I have gone through many note books and pens studying for my course. We had 9 new treatments to learn with all new machines, as well as all the theory and anatomy and physiology behind it all. I now only have five exams left and a couple of practical assessments and then I will be all signed off and looking for work in a salon. These past three years have been life changing for me, I have learnt a large amount and have grown so much as a person. If you would like to see a post on my experience studying Beauty Therapy then let me know in the comments, as i feel it could be very beneficial for the aspiring beauticians out there.

This year i have put down the makeup and developed my passion for skincare. My college course includes electrical facial treatments and I have found studying the skin and the benefits these treatments have extremely interesting. I have trained with Eve Taylor skincare through my college and that opened up my eyes to the world of skincare, aromatherapy and body care.

I am still working in the bakery part time however this year I have gained work experience in a salon. During my work experience I answered phone calls, booked appointments and was also able to demonstrate a handful of treatments on the manager to gain feedback. Working in this salon only made me more excited to begin my career as a beauty therapist and to train in as many treatments as possible. In the future I am wanting to extend my treatment list and specialise as a esthetician. I would also love to learn more spa treatments as my course doesnt provide that. For example, Body wraps, Hot stones and Indian head massage are all treatments I would love to train in. Overall, I am looking forward to the upcoming years so I can find my feet in the industry and start the rest of my life as a beauty therapist.

In other news, this year i have met my boyfriend. He and I have been to together for almost a year now and he has improved my life for the better. He makes me laugh, he has improved my confidence and makes me want to be a better person. We have been on many trips together this year, we have visited; Ambleside, Norfolk, Sherwood Forest, Brighton and we have just booked a holiday to Gran Canaria this summer. We met back in May 2017 and have been inseparable ever since. I have always had plans to open my own business in the future and it just so happens that he studies International Business at Loughborough University so i now have my business and life partner.

With all that being said, I have truly missed blogging and can't wait to begin writing again. In terms of blog posts I have many ideas of what I wish to speak about however your suggestions are always welcome in the comments below. I want to thank you all for reading this post and for sticking with me during this break I have taken. Here's to a new start!

With Love,
