Updated Evening Skincare Routine | Autumn Edition

Transitioning your skincare from Summer to Autumn is crucial and as I havent done a skincare post in a while I figured I would update you all on my current evening skincare routine. At this time of year moisturising is extremely important, as the weather can dry out our skin therefore i tend to adapt my routine by using more hydrating products. Before I begin, I have a combination skin type of normal/oily, my T Zone is the oilier portion of my face and the rest is normal. I'm especially lucky as i rarely suffer from blemishes however my under eyes can appear dark and puffy at times and I do have fairly sensitive cheeks. If you would like to see my morning skincare routine feel free to leave a comment below, but without further a-do here is my evening skincare routine for Autumn.

Cleanse

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

I truly think that balm cleaners are my favourite of them all as they just feel so luxurious on the skin especially when removing makeup. To do so, I take my damp Emma Hardie cleansing cloth and gather a small amount of the balm in my hands and distribute between my fingertips. I then gently massage the excess onto the cheeks, chin, nose and forehead before going to the eyes with the melted oils on my fingers. I follow by wiping the cloth over my face to remove the product leaving my skin feeling refreshed. I then repeat this step to further cleanse my skin to ensure all the makeup is removed and my face is also fully cleansed.

I've been using this cleanser for a while now and previously used the Emma Hardie cleansing balm which i equally love. This product is great for all skin types, leaves the skin soft and nourished and is gentle. A little goes a long way with this balm so I'm sure I won't be getting through it all in a hurry.

Tone

Pixi Glow Tonic

This product has been a part of my routine for almost a year now and for good reason as I absolutely adore it. It is an exfoliating toner which helps to tighten and firm the skin, it removes any dead skin cells leaving a radiant healthy appearance. To apply this I take a small amount on a cotton pad and wipe it all over the face. Despite it being an acid toner I've had no issues with sensitivity or irritation using this. If you haven't tried this product already then I definitely recommend that you do!

Serum

Sara Chapman Overnight Facial

I love serums! They are such a treat and leave my skin feeling luxurious, soft, radiant and hydrated. I could honestly talk about this product forever although to cut it short, this is an oil with anti-aging properties that helps to refine and repair the skin overnight. I know what you're thinking, a 17 year old trying to fight the signs of aging?...But in my opinion the sooner you start, the better! This is an expensive product and for some, the cost might be prohibitive nonetheless i openly think it's worth it. After the first use of this product the difference in my skin was astonishing, It felt much more plump and smoother. To apply this product I take a small amount in the palms of my hands and take some time to massage it into the skin. It smells great and the texture is heavenly, and allows it to spread over your skin with ease. I be of the opinion that serums are primarily important at this time of year and recommend that you add one to your routine as like i said, they're my favourite skincare product.

Moisturise

Origins GinZing Energy-boosting Moisturizer

I love this moisturiser paired with the serum I just mentioned as they truthfully compliment each other well. This moisturising gel leaves an amazing luminosity the second you put it on which is something i look for especially at this time of year. It's light gel cream texture absorbs quickly and dries matte, and not to mention has a refreshing citrus scent which reminds me of Terry's chocolate orange (one of my favourite chocolates, might I add). I thought I would mention that the ingredients in this product are fantastic, it contains no alcohol which is known to dry out the skin. It's also paraben free and contains a lot of natural ingredients which i appreciate. It isn't overly moisturising which is why I like it paired with the serum, so ladies with drier skin probably wouldn't benefit from this as much however with that being said I for sure recommend this product.

Eye Cream

Benefit 'Its Potent' Eye Cream

I can be very picky with my eye creams as I know exactly what I am looking for in a product. My requirements are to be hydrating enough to plump the undereye area but not to be too greasy that it can contribute to anything like milia. This eye cream fills these requirements for me and I've honestly seen a difference in my under eyes since using this product. It is a tinted gel cream that absorbs right away and it needs to be mentioned that the packaging is adorable. My only con to this product would be that it's in a pot in which you have to dip your finger in, however I can oversee this issue as I love the cream itself.

Lip Balm

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Nourishing Lip Balm

I figured I would mention this balm as I tend to use it everynight before bed. Lip balm is something I always have to apply before going to sleep and this one in particular has been my go-to for a while. It is a dependable lip balm that leaves my lips feeling smooth and moisturised. I like the packaging however the scent is not my favourite, I continue to use this product purely because I like the effect it gives...and that is what you call dedication :)

I hope you enjoyed this post and found it somewhat informative. Like i said, let me know if you'd like to see a morning skincare routine and leave a comment of one skincare product you couldn't live without, as I'd love to know.

 With love,
