My Makeup Story Tag

How old were you when you started wearing make-up?

From what i can remember I was about 13 when I started wearing makeup and I believe it was just mascara and lipgloss although I do recall a phase in year 8 when I would wear black kohl eyeliner on my top lash line which I can imagine wasn't very well applied.
When I was very young I remember receiving a huge childrens makeup kit from my parents that had every shade of eyeshadow you could imagine and I would makeover my cousins all the time. I've always been very girly and as a child I loved the idea of playing with makeup and looking like a princess.

How did you get into make-up?

I think I probably got into makeup the same way that most young girls do. My mum has always worn makeup and I most likely got my hands on her makeup bag and went to town applying everything to my face.

What are some of your favourite brands?

I have so many favourite makeup brands that it would be impossible to choose only a couple so I'll list my top 10 current favourites.

MAC, Too Faced, Soap & Glory, Urban Decay, NARS, Makeup Geek, Anastasia Beverly Hills,  Yves Saint Laurent, Benefit, Charlotte Tilbury.

What does make-up mean to you?

Makeup to me is a way of expression and I get excited to delve into my makeup drawer in the morning and decide what products to wear. Wearing makeup gives me confidence and makes me feel happy about my appearance.

If you could only wear 4 products on your face, what would they be?

I'm that girl who likes to go full glam everyday so this question was quite difficult however I've settled for Foundation, Bronzer, Eye Brows, Mascara.
I'd need foundation as it instantly makes my skin look flawless and I could also use it as concealer to hide my horrendous dark circles. Bronzer is essential to warm up my complexion as I'm very pale and dont want to look ghostly. I have very sparse eyebrows so I'd need to fill them in and mascara will just help to open up my eyes.

What is your favourite thing about make-up?
I honestly have a true obsession with buying and trying new makeup and getting ready in the morning is my favourite part of the day because I love getting creative and playing around with my makeup look. I also love that makeup can transform my face, enhance my features and give me so more confidence. I definitely dont feel comfortable enough to leave the house without makeup.

What do you think of Drugstore VS High End make-Up?

Honestly I'd say I prefer high end but I've nothing against drugstore products because I know you can find some great products at a low price in the drugstore. I always gravitate towards high end makeup because you do often get what you pay for.

What is one tip you would give to a beginner?

Makeup is a great way to express yourself and be creative. Not everyone chooses to wear makeup but if it's something you want to do and enjoy, go for it! Remember, practice makes perfect and if you make a mistake you can easily wipe it away and start again. YouTube has played a big part in learning about makeup for me so watching tutorials can improve your skills.

What do you think of the beauty community on YouTube?

I've been watching YouTube videos for years and it's what got me into blogging. I love that there is a place on the internet that you can go to for beauty and makeup advice and I've learnt most of what I know from watching tutorials.

I hope that you enjoyed this post and got to know a little more about me and my makeup story! Leave a comment of why you love makeup and If you have any blog post requests feel free to leave them below.

Accessories Wishlist | SPRING

Recently I've been getting more into accessories and as summer is upon us Ive been wanting to add to my accessories wardrobe. Lately I've been introduced to 'SPRING' which is a website that feature over 900 different brands and for todays post I am going to be sharing with you some items I've been crushing on from their accessories page

Pink Faux Fur Pom-Pom Keychain-La Hearts

In the past few months I've seen Pom Poms in a lot of fashion retail stores and this particular pink one caught my eye. Ive been searching for one for a while now as i think it will make the task of finding my keys in my bag a lot easier.

Large Shopping Tote Bag- Saint Laurent

I believe a tote bag is a great item to have in your handbag collection as they look classy and go with just about anything. Its the perfect size for taking shopping and the price isn't too expensive either.

I've been loving watches at the moment and I love this specific one because of its simplicity. I dont own a brown leather watch and I think it's a great accessory piece for the summer. The price point on this watch is very reasonable and I like that it has a hint of rose gold.

Live Now Sunglasses- Quay Australia

I've heard fantastic things about Quay Australia sunglasses and for that reason I'd really like to own a pair myself. I like a rounded frame and the tourshell pattern is always my go-to. These sunglasses are very well priced and I think would look very chic for this summer.

I've been eyeing this bag up for a while now and it's most definitely an investment piece due to its large price tag. I'm quite the fan of saddlebags and this chloe one is in an off-white shade with gold hardware and a chain shoulder strap. I would absolutely love to own this bag and It's an accessory that will last a lifetime.

Straw Panama Hat- Rag & Bone

I'm not normally one for hats however I think this would be great to take on holiday to spain with me to wear to the beach.

As you can tell I'm very much a fan of this watch as I've added to my wishlist in the white colour. I also dont own a white watch and I think this is a great accessory for the summer time.

Tiny Faceted Heart Earrings- Giles & Brother

As I was browsing the website these earrings really stood out to me as I've never seen anything like them before. I think they are something a little different and that's why i added them to my wishlist.

Round Metal Ponytail Holder- Genuine People

Hair accessories are something I never play around with and when I saw this gold ponytail holder I thought it was a great idea and something I'd love to try. It can really dress up a simple hairstyle like a ponytail and will go with anything.

That concludes my accessories wishlist, is there an item on my list that you love? Check out the 'SPRING' website if you havent already because they not only sell accessories they also have; clothing, shoes, makeup, skincare, fragrance and much more. I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments below an item that you've been loving in your wardrobe recently.

The 5 Minute Face | Summer Holiday Edition

When travelling I have to be very selective with the makeup I take away with me which can be a tricky task and today I am going to be sharing with you my quick fix makeup look for those days when you are just sitting by the pool and still want to look pulled together.

Products:

The first thing I will do is wash my face and apply my moisturiser/ sunscreen.
I tend to skip foundation as I dont feel it's necessary so instead I apply some concealer to the under eyes, forehead and chin.
I cannot go anywhere without my eyebrows on so I apply the Anastasia Dipbrow in Soft Brown to my brows to give them shape and definition.
Moving on, I'll coat my lashes with the Charlotte Tilbury mascara which adds length and volume and gives quite a dramatic false lash effect which I adore.
To give my cheeks a natural flush I'll dust the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso over my cheeks and if needed I'll give my face some shape by adding the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting powder to the hollows of my cheeks.
Finally to finish the look I'll apply the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in 'Bitch Please' to my lips.

I'm never one to leave the house without makeup so to me this is as natural as it gets. Let me know in the comments your beauty essentials when you go away and I hope you enjoyed this post!
