Spring Polish Picks

As spring is now upon us for todays post I thought I would share with you all my go-to polish shades for this season. I like to change my nail colour palette as the weather changes so here's a breakdown of my top 5 favourite colours for Spring.

White//

Butter London- Cotton Buds

A white polish is great for enhancing your tan and the Butter London shade in Cotton Buds is a long wearing nail lacquer that I find to be a staple for this season. It applies easily and I find 2/3 coats gives me great Opacity. As this is a nail lacquer it dries quickly which is important for me as there's nothing worse than having to sit around doing nothing while you wait for your nails to dry.

Pink//

Ciate Candy Floss

I think a pink polish is a must have for spring and this particular shade by Ciate is one of my favourites. I received this in their annual christmas calendar last year and whenever I want a pastel pink on my nails this is my go-to. These polishes are highly pigmented and I find two coats to look opaque and they dry quickly which I appreciate. I find the brush on these minis the perfect size for painting the nail without getting in a mess. I would recommend ciate nail paints and especially their advent calendars as they are good value for money.

Orange//
Illamasqua Whack

An orange polish is one I like to pull out when Spring arrives and this Illamasqua shade is a beautiful colour with a glossy creme finish. It applies simply and I would describe the colour as a bright tangerine with a touch of red that catches the eye. Illamasqua have one of my favourite formulas for nail polishes purely for the fact that they are so hard-wearing on the nails and this shade is completely opaque with two smooth coats.

Lilac//

Essie Lilacism

Lilacism is a beautiful pale lavender with a creme finish and the formula is very smooth and easy to apply. You do need to apply three thin coats to get the desired creamy pastel effect however It's worth it because the finish is beautiful. The staying power is fantastic on all Essie Polishes and If you're looking for a Lilac polish I would definitely suggest this one.

Mint Green//

Essie Mint Candy Apple

Essie's Mint Candy Apple is a beautiful pastel mint green shade with an excellent formula. It is opaque in two coats and I do not find it to be streaky. This colour is a cult favourite and with good reason as is is a very flattering colour that stands out. As previously mentioned Essie polishes apply with ease and last well too.

I hope this post gave you some nail polish inspiration. What's your go to spring polish shade? Let me know in the comments below!

My Top 5 High End Nude Lipsticks

I think by now you are all aware that I love a good nude lip so in today's post I wanted to share with you my ultimate favourites. Bare in mind these are my high end favourites, if you'd like to see a drugstore version let me know in the comments. But if you like to know my top 5 high end nude lipsticks carry on reading.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine- 09 Nude in Private
I initially purchased this lipstick as I wanted a sheer and easy-to- wear lip colour and not to the mention I adore the YSL casing on these lipsticks. These 'Volupte Shine' lipsticks are a great option if you want a wash of colour on the lips with an easy application for everyday use. The formula is amazing and it feels smooth and hydrating almost like a lip balm. It also has a fruity scent which I love and on my lips it comes up as a beige/ peachy nude. I would most definitely try more shades from this range as I love this lipstick and would recommend it to everyone.

Nars Audacious Lipstick- Anita
I've mentioned this lipstick a lot and as you all know this is my perfect nude, I honestly cannot rave about this product enough. After trying a Nars Satin lipstick and loving in I wanted to try another Nars lip product and I'd heard many things about this particular shade so i decided to buy it and since then I have never looked back. This is a mid-toned rose with a touch of brown and the formulation of the lipstick is a velvety creamy matte that glides on your lips without being slippery, meaning you know it will last. Even though the lipstick is matte I don't find it the least bit drying. I have several other shades of the audacious lipsticks and they are one of my favourite lip products. The magnetic closure is nice and the packaging is sleek and sophisticated. If you are going to buy one lipstick from this post I would for sure suggest it be this one.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine- 54 Boy

This was my first Chanel product so you could say I bought it just for the pretty packaging (which is partly true) however I adore this lipstick. It's not the most pigmented which I don't mind as I feel when I'm wearing a bold eye look I need an understated nude and this is the perfect lip shade for that. It's a sheer 'your lips but better' shade that has a noticeable wash of colour that just brightens up the face and adds that little bit extra to any look. It's moisturising on the lips and it has a glossy finish, overall I would advise a nude lipstick lover to have this product in their collection as it is a must have for me.

Mac- Velvet Teddy
I couldn't do this post without mentioning at least one Mac lipstick. Velvet Teddy has always been one of my favourite lipsticks and it's very well loved in the blogger community especially and for a good reason as it is a great lipstick. First of all, this lip colour looks beautiful on almost any skin tone and it is a beigey pink colour that I can wear with any makeup look. It looks smooth on the lips and applies easily however after a while I can find it to be a tad drying although that can be overlooked as the lasting power on Mac lipsticks is outstanding. I can wear this product for hours and it still looks the same which I appreciate in a lipstick. All in all I would repurchase this shade over and over again as it is a holy grail product for me.

Charlotte Tilbury- Bitch Perfect

After trying and loving so many of Charlotte's products I wanted to try a lipstick and this particular shade has been mentioned a lot by fellow beauty bloggers so I decided to pick it up. I dont normally like peachy nudes however this lipstick looks beautiful on my fair skin tone. It's a light, but not washed out peach beige with a slight pink undertone to it. The finish is a lovely understated shine. The formula feels comfortable and creamy on the lips and doesnt dry them out. It lasts for a few hours and fades nicely so overall I would recommend this lipstick.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments your favourite nude lipstick because a girl can never have too many, right?

March Favourites 2016

I honestly cannot believe we are heading into April, it seems like last week we were celebrating the new year. This month I haven't been buying and trying many new things however the products I am going to mention have been essentials throughout March. If you'd like to know what i've been loving carry on reading.

Beauty//

Zoeva Buffer Brush

Ever since I discovered the beauty blender I swore I would never use a brush again to apply my foundation however the Zoeva Buffer brush has changed my mind. Firstly, the brush is made to a high quality which is unexpected with its low price tag (£15) and it washes with ease. I've applied both liquid and cream foundations with this brush and they blend smoothly without leaving brush marks. The bristles are soft and they aren't packed too close together which would make it feel too rough on your skin however they aren't too far apart that the foundation would get soaked up. Overall I have been loving using this brush throughout March and I'm now in two minds to whether I prefer this over my beauty blender.

Morphe 35p Palette

As this March has been the lead up to Spring I have been using more colourful and brighter eyeshadows and this particular palette has been my go-to this month. I recently did a 'Easter Makeup Tutorial' using these shadows and I honestly cannot praise them enough. The quality of these eye-shadows is outstanding, especially the metallic and shimmery shades. The texture of the shadows are smooth and they blend simply. I would definitely recommend that you try the Morphe eyeshadow palettes.

Graftobian hi-def glamour creme

At college I took part in a photographic makeup course and the makeup artist that taught us raved about this particular foundation. She told me that it was extremely high coverage that its heat and water proof and naturally I had to buy it! She colour matched me to my absolute perfect shade and the price was very reasonable (£16). This foundation is so pigmented that a tiny bit goes a long way and it has a beautiful creamy texture. It can be used as a concealer or foundation depending on how it's applied. I found that this month I have been reaching for it alot as it applies easily and looks flawless on my skin.

Body Shop Honey Bronzer

Whilst shopping I popped into the Body Shop to get a present for mother's day and saw that they were doing a 3 for 2 and decided to buy the honey bronzer as it has been on my wish list for a while. I purchased it in the lightest shade and it's a great contour powder for my pale complexion. It isnt overly pigmented which I dont mind as I'm able to build it up rather than over apply. It's matte which makes it great for contouring and the price is affordable. It gives a sun-kissed look to the skin without looking streaky or muddy and generally I really love this product.

Body & Skincare//

Soap and Glory Heel Genius Foot Cream

This month I've found (TMI alert) that my feet were feeling quite dry, especially my heels and this foot cream has been really helpful. After my bath or shower I've been massaging this all over my feet and it leaves them smooth and soft. It doesn't fix them overnight but with continued usage, I see such a dramatic difference. I would definitely recommend this cream as it leaves my feet feeling amazing and it's cheap too!

Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser

After trying several Liz Earle products that I've found to love I decided to give this moisturiser a go. This cream feels very luxurious on the skin and has earnt a position in my morning routine as it leaves my skin super soft and hydrated. It's packaged well and has a fresh pleasant scent. It works wonderfully under my graftobian foundation and I would repurchase this moisturiser for sure.

Body Shop Vitamin E Mist

I re-purchased this spray the same time that I bought the honey bronzer and it's been a staple in my skincare routine for giving my skin a boost of hydration. It's not too expensive and has a refreshing and cooling feeling on the skin. I've tried this as an after face-wash spritz before I moisturiser morning and night, and as a setting spray. It works well to keep your makeup looking good all day. I highly recommend this product.

Tv//

Pretty Little Liars-

PLL has been getting sooo good and without spoiling anything all I can say is that I cannot wait for season 7 to begin. If you havent seen Pretty Little Liars then what are you waiting for? It's one of my favourite shows and I'm going to rewatch it all again until it restarts mid 2016.

Youtubers//

Jaclyn Hill-

Jaclyn is one of my all time favourite youtubers mainly because of her hilarious personality but her tutorials especially are incredible. This month I have been re-watching some of her older videos and If you arent already subscribed to her then you most definitely should.

Hannah Renee-
Similar to Jaclyn I also enjoy Hannah's makeup tutorials. I also really enjoy her mini makeup collection series and she happens to be a makeup artist at MAC. Once again, if you arent subscribed to her then you should be!

Music//

Adele- When We Were Young
I've always been a huge Adele fan and this song has been on repeat all month. I've actually been loving her whole album but this particular song has been my go-to track, The lyrics speak about reminiscing past memories with a loved one and she sings the song amazingly as usual.  Adele has started her tour and I would LOVE to see her perform live!

That concludes my favourites for the month of March. Comment below something you've been loving this month.

Easter Makeup Tutorial | Purple Eyeshadow

After buying several Morphe palettes I was inspired to create this makeup look that I am going to be wearing for Easter. The real inspiration behind this look is the purple shade in the right top corner of the Morphe 35p palette. It's honestly breathe taking and if you don't already own this palette I would buy it just for that shade. Anyway, if you'd like to see my Easter makeup look carry on reading.

Products Mentioned:
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
MAC Pro longwear Concealer
MAC Studio Fix Powder
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder
Mac Blush in Mocha
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop
Morphe 35P Eyeshadow Palette
MAC paint pot in Painterly
Urban Decay 24 Hour Pencil in Perversion
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

1. I started by prepping my skin by cleansing, toning and moisturizing and then I moved onto applying the Estee Lauder DoubleWear foundation with the Zoeva Buffer brush and then blending it in with a damp beauty blender.

2. Then I concealed and brightened my under eyes this the MAC prolongwear concealer and set that all into place with my MAC studio fix powder.

3. Moving onto eyes I primed them with the MAC paint pot in Painterly and set that into place using a (1) matte white shadow. Using the Zoeva 224 brushes and applied (2) a matte dusty pink through the crease as my transition shade. With the same brush I blended (3) a matte taupe into the crease. With my ring finger I added (4) a metallic purple all over the lid as i find this way I get the most pigmentation out of my shadows. I then placed (5) a dark purple into the outer corner to deepen it up with the Zoeva 231 brush. Finally I took (3) the taupe shade onto my lower lash line with the Zoeva 230 brush.

4.  Next I applied the Urban Decay eyeliner in Perversion to my tightline and waterline. I then curled my lashes and applied my favourite mascara which is the Maybelline Lash sensational mascara.

5. After that I carried on with my skin by bronzing my face with the Benefit Hoola bronzer. Using the Real Techniques blusher blush I applied it onto my cheekbones, jawline and temples.

6. Moving on I gave my cheeks some colour with the MAC blush in Mocha and applied it to the apples of my cheeks. I then highlighted the top of my cheekbones, brow bone and cupids bow with the Becca Highlighter in Champagne Pop.

7. Finally I added the Chanel Lipstick in 54 Boy to my lips.

I hope you enjoyed this spring purple eyeshadow tutorial. Have you tried any of the morphe eyeshadow palettes

Spring Nails | Floral Nail Art

To any experts out there this may seem like the easiest nail art in the world, but to me (an avid beginner) I found it demanding and actually quite stressful but I love how it turned out. At college I'm studying beauty therapy and in class we are starting our nail art portfolios and this was my first attempt at creating a look.

Equipment:
Colour Matrix French White
Dotting Tool
Tweezers
Gems

I started with a pink coloured base, and then used a large dotting tool to add the white flower petal patterning. I applied a small dot of topcoat into the centre of each flower and using tweezers I placed a gem into the middle of each flower. Then all that was left was to finish with a sealer.

Would you like to see more nail art looks? Let me know in the comments below.

Beauty Wishlist | House of Fraser

I have a huge notes page on my phone full of beauty products I hope to own someday and for today's post I thought I would share with you some of those items.

Nars Blush 'Sin'

After trying 'Orgasm' I have been wanting to try more Nars Blushers for a while and the shade 'Sin' stands out to me as it's a plum colour with gold specs which is something I'm lacking in my makeup collection. The texture of these blushers are silky and blendable so I would love to own more.

Mac Eye Kohl 'Fascinating'

I've wanted to try a white kohl pencil for a while and Macs liners glide onto the waterliner easily and have great pigmentation. The shade of this pencil is a snow white which is the perfect colour to make my eyes pop and look wider and more awake. So I think next payday I will have to pick this up.

Nars Audacious Lipstick 'Barbara'

I've previously spoke about a Nars Audacious Lipstick in my 'Top 5 Discoveries of 2015'. I have one in the shade 'Anita' which is my perfect nude and I absolutely love the formula so I want to try more shades. The formulation of the lipstick is a velvety creamy matte and the shade 'Barbara' looks to be a great shade for my skin tone.

Tom Ford Eye Colour Quads in 'COCOA MIRAGE'

I've been eyeing up these rather expensive quads for a long time and I've heard so many people praise the quality of the shadows. My favourite is 'Cocoa Mirage' as it looks easy to wear for everyday. I would love to own one of these someday so I better start saving!

Dior Airflash Spray Foundation

I'm quite the foundation collector and the idea of a spray foundation is very interesting to me. I've heard many people have mixed opinions on this product however I would love to try it for myself. It's said to give your skin an airbrushed look that lasts all day which sounds perfect for me so in the future I will have to try this out.

Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder

'Baking' your makeup is a trend that has become popular in the beauty blogger world recently and I haven't yet tried it out however this powder is supposedly great for doing so. It believably sets your makeup into place to prevent creasing and leaves you with a matte finish.

Urban Decay Afterglow Blush 'Fetish'

I already own one of these Blushers in the shade 'Rapture' which is a beautiful mauve shade that I wear often so I'd like to expand my collection. These blushers are packaged beautiful and the product itself blends with ease and lasts well on the face. The shade fetish is a medium nude pink that I feel would look pretty on my pale skin.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

This mascara has been out for a while now and I've wanted to try it since I first heard about it. Particularly the packaging looks stunning and from what I've been told it's a great mascara for helping to hold your curl. When searching for a mascara I mainly look for length over volume so this product may work well for me.

I hope this post gave you all some shopping inspiration, what products have you been eyeing up lately?

Lunch Date | Thomas2

While at college my friend and I went to a nearby cafe for Lunch and for an extra post this week I thought I would share with you our experience. We've previously been to this cafe several times and have always enjoyed our meals. The whole atmosphere of the cafe is enjoyable and relaxing and the decor is vintage with a modern spin. The colour scheme is pink, grey and white and there are several pieces of homemade bunting dotted around the cafe. They had a selection of homemade cakes available which looked delicious. The waitress who served us was very friendly and the food tasted and looked beautiful. The prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were generous.  Overall we really enjoyed our lunch and we will be returning again.

Hope you enjoyed this slightly different post, let me know in the comments below if you'd like to see more posts like this.

Morphe 35 Colour Palettes | First Impressions & Swatches

After hearing so many great reviews from fellow bloggers and youtubers I decided to purchase a few Morphe palettes to try out for myself. I chose to pick up the 35D, 35P and 35T palettes and in today's post I am going to be sharing with you my first impressions and thoughts on these eyeshadows.

Morphe Brushes 35D Palette-

(Top 2 Rows- Across)
(Row 3 & 4)
(Last Row)

Morphe Brushes 35T Palette-

(First 2 Rows)
(Row 3 & 4)
(Last Row)

Morphe Brushes 35P Palette-

(First 2 Rows)
(Row 3 & 4)
(Last Row)

Overall these palettes are great for the price (£20.75 each- cultbeauty)as the quality of the shadows are incredible. The texture of these are smooth and creamy and the metallic shades are honestly outstanding and as I swatched all the shadows I noticed there wasn't much fall out either. I must say that there are a few shadows that lack pigmentation however it can be overlooked as the majority of the eyeshadows have an intense colour payoff.
I'm excited to play around with these palettes and especially some of the brighter colours. I would certainly recommend these palettes as you don't always have to pay luxury prices to get fantastic quality shadows and morphe have done a great job on these palettes.

Would you like to see a tutorial using these palettes? Have you tried any Morphe products? Let me know in the comments below.
